1st German Kennedy Commemerative

Does anyone know about a coin issued with this description:

"The first one was minted in Germany and shows the Kennedys and Connallys in front of The School Book Depository in Dealey Plaza. The obverse depicts Jack Ruby silencing Lee Oswald."

It is 60mm and 70 grams. It was issed by Deutsche Numismatik in 1964.

Thanks
ellie

Sounds like one of many commemorative medals made world-wide honoring Kennedy.

"Ich bin ein Berliner" famous cold war speech gave hope to many in the then divided city.

It is a melter...probably .900 -.950 fine.

Not sure if he'll sell to an Ami. Not sure but I think the other guy is Willy Brandt.

Re: 1st German Kennedy Commemerative

I have the original packing slip for the coin. It came from Deutsche Numismatik in Frankfurt. It doesn't have a profile of Kennedy on the coin as in the link provided in the previous link.

It has a picture of him in the car in front of the book depository with Jacquiline and the Connallys when he was being shot. There is a very small rifle end with firs shown out of the right window on the sixth floor. The wording on the front is "IN KENNEDY ABIECTA VIS DALLAS MCM LXIII There are also some very small markings that state "silver . .????" V.G.

The back has a picture of Ruby shooting Oswald with a couple of other menn present. The wording reads " INHON. SINGUL. IURE OSWALD RUBY PERIMIT"

I have tried taking pictures but it is a mix of dull finish and shiny and I can't get the pictures to stop glaring even with the use of white balance and PS. Any suggestions, I'd be glad to give it a try.

I've had this coin since I was very young and it has always facinated me in an ominous sort of way. Not just because of the subject but because of the articulate detail and texture.
